The Schola Saint Gregoire was founded in 1938 by Suzanne Bellin at the request of Dom Joseph Gajard, choirmaster of Solesmes. In 1998 it was elevated to the rank of Académie Internationale de Musique Sacrée under the patronage of the Pontifical Council for Culture. In 2002, the current director, Claude Pateau, succeeded Mademoiselle Denise Lebon, in continuing the work of Dom Mocquereau, Dom Gajard and Justine Ward through online courses, Gregorian weekends and summer courses.

Dr. Júlia D’Alemendra directed the first Gregorian week in Fatima in 1950. In 1988 the Centro Ward de Lisboa was founded and named in her honor. The Gregorian weeks continue each summer under the leadership of Dr. Idalete Giga.

The Ward Method has been practiced at the choir school in Cologne, Germany since 1986. Its use has spread through the work of Director, Gisbert Brandt, and is currently practiced in Regensburg, Speyer, and Düsseldorf, through its Singpause program, Bad Düben and Neustadt an der Weinstraße.
