Headshot of Naima Burr

Ms. Burr was interviewed earlier this year and is pleased to report that she was selected as the next Johns Hopkins Symphony Orchestra Assistant Conductor. Currently onhold due to the pandemic.

"[This is] very exciting for me because it will be my first job as a conductor-- of course, also very frustrating to not know when this will actually take place. But! I am remaining optimistic and hoping that we will get the ball rolling for Fall 2021."

Ms. Burr believes that this would be the first time a non-Peabody student would serve as the Assistant Conductor, adding to the excitment.

"This will be such an incredible learning experience for me so I am keeping my fingers crossed as decisions are made for how they will proceed with the next few semesters."
