Summer programs in the Benjamin T. Rome School of Music offer many opportunities for undergraduate music majors and graduate students as well as for students seeking to study music for general education requirements.

Private lessons in many instruments and voice are offered each summer. Classes in music theory, history and appreciate include basic required courses for Bachelor of Music and Bachelor of Arts students as well as introductory classes such as "Music and the Catholic Tradition".  The School offers a number of special events such as the Ward Method Institute for teaching Gregorian Chant, a Musical theatre workshop as well as a program for high school instrumentalists.  Each summer, the School hosts the Washington International Piano Festival, which is not a credit class, but offers piano master classes and workshops with some of the world's great pianists.
