It is with great pleasure that we announce our Eighth Annual High School Honor Choir Festival conducted by Dr. Timothy McDonnell, Director of Choral Activities at The Catholic University of America that will be held on Saturday, February 15, 2020. This one-day experience includes rehearsals throughout the course of the day, a masterclass presented by Professor Rick Christman, Voice Faculty of The Catholic University of America, and a culminating performance at 4:30 p.m. In St. Vincent’s Chapel on the CUA campus. Please find attached a tentative schedule and the Nomination Form.

Students are chosen and invited to participate in this honor choir based upon their musicianship and their contributions to your choral program. As their conductor, your recommendation is necessary for any student to participate in this special event. Please list your outstanding seniors, juniors and sophomores on the attached sheet and indicate the ability/achievement rating of each student. Your rating factors into the selection process. We must receive your nominations by Friday, November 22, 2019.

After we receive your list, we will send the application form and all the honor choir information to the student. All choir members who attend the festival will receive a Certificate of Participation and a 2020 Catholic University of America High School Honor Choir t-shirt, snacks, and lunch. There is a $40.00 fee for participation in the Honor Choir. The CUA High School Honor Choir concert will be held from at 4:30 p.m. - 5:15 p.m., Saturday, February 15, 2020 at St. Vincent’s Chapel on the CUA campus. The concert is free and open to the public, should parents and directors wish to attend. A map of the CUA campus is available on the site.
