The Vocal Performance Academic Area of the Benjamin T. Rome School of Music, Drama, and Art offers degrees in vocal performance at the undergraduate level and vocal performance and vocal pedagogy at the graduate level. With approximately 60 students, the Vocal Performance Academic Area also teaches students in the music education program with a Vocal Performance concentration.

Each year, the Academic Area performs two fully staged operas, evenings of opera scenes performed by the Opera Workshop class, recitals, master classes and webcasts. Students study with teachers who have vast performing experience and are still working actively in the field as soloists at major opera companies, with symphonies, and in recital.
