  • Catholic University Staff Accompanist Nicolas Catravas, D.M.A./Ph.D., began his piano studies at the age of eight. As a young pianist he was a winner of the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra Young Soloists Competition, a National Winner of the Baldwin Piano Competition, and received the Conductor’s Choice Award in the J.S. Bach International Competition (Junior Division).

    Dr. Catravas Completed his BM at the Catholic University of America, an MM at the University of Maryland, and a DMA at Eastman School of Music, in Piano Performance. He later completed another degree in Vocal Accompanying  at the Catholic University of America. Over the last years, Dr. Catravas has accompanied for a number of recitals, operas, shows, and programs at the The Departments of Music at The Catholic University of America, Maryland Lyric Opera, and Bel Cantanti Opera.
